【Seminar】A Thorough Explanation of Nasdaq IPOs: From the Latest Information to the Actual Process
In December 2020, Medirom Healthcare Technologies Inc., the healthcare services company behind the “Re.Ra.Ku” relaxation studios, successfully listed on Nasdaq, bringing increasing attention to the Nasdaq market.
Medirom was the first company since Internet Initiative Japan Inc. (IIJ) in 1999—a 21-year gap—to list in the U.S. without first going public in Japan. While numerous venture companies have been planning Nasdaq IPOs “under the surface” in recent years, Medirom has emerged to lead the way.
A listing on the NASDAQ market, one of the world’s largest capital markets, is considered a powerful strategic option. It not only provides capital but also leads to strengthening competitiveness in the global marketplace.
In this seminar, Chieko Murata, Nasdaq Japan Marketing Manager, will speak on various topics including the latest trends in the Nasdaq market, the characteristics of Japanese vs. U.S. exchanges and investors, and what type of Japanese companies are well-suited for a Nasdaq listing.
Furthermore, Masato Minamizuka, CEO of Quantum Accounting Inc., will explain the practical process involved in a Nasdaq market IPO.
This event is a “must-see” for executives of startups considering a future listing and for companies aiming to expand their business globally. We also hope it serves as an opportunity for investors to re-examine the differences between the Japanese and U.S. exchanges.
