On April 14, we held our first Nasdaq IPO Seminar at Venture Café Tokyo.

The content of the seminar is now available for viewing at the link below. Please take a look.

1st Nasdaq IPO Seminar: A Thorough Explanation of What is Required for Japanese Companies/Startups to List on Nasdaq – YouTube

In 2021, the amount of capital raised through IPOs (excluding SPACs) on Nasdaq reached $97.5 billion (approx. 10.7 trillion JPY). The total amount raised on the Tokyo Stock Exchange (TSE) was approximately 7.17 trillion JPY, which means that Nasdaq alone raised 14 times the capital of the entire TSE.

As a capital market that also far exceeds Japan in terms of average funds raised per company, it is an ideal market for startups to acquire necessary growth capital. However, until now, it has been an unfamiliar market for Japanese startups.

In 2020, Medirom Healthcare Technologies Inc. achieved a solo Nasdaq IPO, and this year, Yoshitsu Co., Ltd. and the U.S. parent company of HeartCore Enterprises, Inc. also completed their IPOs. It is rapidly becoming an option that is gathering significant attention from Japanese startups.

In this seminar, we explained the attractions and features of the Nasdaq market. Quantum Accounting, which specializes in U.S. IPOs, explained the U.S. listing process and requirements. Boustead Wavefront Pte., Ltd., which is based in Singapore and invests in and supports the growth of Asian startups, provided a detailed explanation of the real growth strategies and capital policies necessary for a Nasdaq listing.

Despite the time constraint of one and a half hours, the seminar from Nasdaq, Quantum Accounting, and Boustead Wavefront Pte., Ltd. was information-dense. We had a large turnout, with 150-200 people participating, including both in-person attendees and online viewers. Many participants were interested in U.S. listings, and we have received numerous consultations following the seminar.

Our firm is eager to assist Japanese companies, especially highly ambitious venture companies, as they aim to list on Nasdaq.
